about elizaberry
Hi there, I’m Elizabeth!
I’m a California native and a school teacher. I learned about many aspects of jewelry making during my first job out of college; Teaching children how to make jewelry. My love of fun earrings & making handcrafted goods for friends and family has brought me to where I am today in starting this small business out of my little home in Sonoma, California. It’s just me creating & packing up all of your precious orders.
the process
& materials
Polymer clay is a man-made clay that is soft and pliable until baked. I begin by conditioning the clay with my hands & a pasta machine. This is also the step where different effects like color mixing are done. I then use cutters to form the earring shape desired. Next, the earrings are baked in my home oven. Once cooled, I sand, buff & polish each piece by hand. Lastly, I use a dremel to make holes & then assemble each pair carefully.Non-clay designs are created by intricately wire-wrapping beads, pearls, or stones.
I use high quality gold-filled and 18k/24k gold to assemble each pair of earrings. Gold-filled jewelry has the same qualities as solid gold jewelry- it’s tarnish resistant, making it great for everyday wear.
Please refer to each earring description to learn more about the type of gold used.
